Deep River District Hospital - Foundation. DRDH Foundation Board Recruits Four New Directors. The Deep River and District Hospital Foundation is a registered charitable organization whose mission is simple; to raise funds for equipment to sustain the exceptional services offered at the Deep River and District Hospital. To carry out this mission, the Foundation is made up of a volunteer Board of Directors and an Executive Director. This winter, the Foundation has had a successful drive to increase its membership and has welcomed four new faces to the Board of Directors. Among the newly elected Directors are Philip Cahoon, Leo Buckley and both Jim Gibsons! Philip Cahoon, owner and operator of Cahoon’s Pharmacy in downtown Deep River, wanted to give back to the community that he now calls home and that has been so good to him and his family. Cahoon’s radar every day, and he would like to help invest in the future healthcare of Deep River. Jim Gibson, Mayor of Rapids des Joachims, has always been involved in community development and being a member of the Foundation will allow him to expand his contribution into this region. Leo Buckley is a retired AECL employee and long- time Deep River resident. Corporate Citizenship Report 2014 Educational Resources Science Honors Institute Lecture Series Westinghouse Women In Nuclear. Buckley, he stepped forward and wanted to join the Foundation because he would like to commit his time and effort to continue the strong support the DRDH Foundation provides to our outstanding hospital. He would like to maintain the excellent medical resource to which our community has access. Buckley believes the DRDH Foundation offers the community the avenue to give back financially and so provide the needed funds for additional and better diagnostic equipment. Jim Gibson, Mayor of the Head, Clara and Maria Township volunteered for the Foundation because he believes that small communities cannot function without the help of volunteers and this is just one small way that he can give back. Serving as a Foundation Board member also gives Jim the chance to serve on a public board, something he has never done before, but looks forward to doing. Gary Sims, Deep River and District Hospital CEO feels that, “it’s an exciting time when new members join the Board. 2015 with a $5000 donation through their Corporate Citizenship Program. OPG believes that a good company gives back to the communities. The Foundation is currently in a transition phase and we hope to continue to grow our membership and build upon the support from this great community throughout the year”. As we enter into 2.
